The Mandate of the KVK

TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT AND DEMONSTRATION FOR ITS APPLICATION AND CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT

Specific activities to carry out the mandate are

ü       On-farm testing to assess the location specificity of agricultural technologies under various farming systems.

ü       Organize  Frontline Demonstrations to establish production potential of technologies on the farmers’ fields.

ü       Capacity development of farmers and extension personnel to update their knowledge and skills on modern agricultural technologies.

ü       To work as knowledge and resource centre of agricultural technologies for supporting initiatives of public, private and voluntary sector in improving the agricultural economy of the district.

ü       Provide farm advisories using ICT and other media means on varied subjects of interest of farmers

In addition, in order to speed up the process of dissemination of technology, a large number of various extension activities and production of seeds and planting materials, livestock, poultry and various bio-products are taken up by KVKs
