Museum of Agriculture
Museum of Agriculture was established in the year 1985 with the aim to have integrated mandate of teaching, research and extension for the development of peasantry and the research information generated by the scientists in the University are assessed, refined in different agro-climatic zones and thereafter transferred to the farmers of the Pradesh through nicely displayed useful, interesting, interactive, attractive and impact making exhibits in the museum. It is located in the communication Centre building of the Directorate of Extension Education. It is a special attraction for the University visitors as it is the mirror of the University activities under single roof. It depicts the activities of different departments of the constituent colleges and Directorate of Extension Education. In the museum live samples, models, charts, photographs and literature are on display which provide ample knowledge to the visitors not only on on-going activities of the University but also in depth knowledge of various aspects of Agriculture, Animal Sciences, Home Sciences and Basic Science. The museum is visited by the people from very walk of like with varying educational and intellectual background, farmers, farm women, rural youth, students, officers, leaders, VIPs and VVIPs from the State, country and abroad every day. The museum with the following sections is also an important part of the Extension activities of the Directorate of Extension Education, CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur.
