2. Education and Trainings

 

  On-campus trainings

  • Trainings programmes of short durations (one day to one month) are organized on various aspects of agriculture and allied fields viz. :

  • Watershed management

  • Improved agricultural technology

  • Vegetable growing

  • Bee-keeping

  • Mushroom cultivation

  • Vermicomposting

  • Dairy management

  • Fish farming

  • Fodder and pasture management

  • Integrated pest management

  • Home Science

These trainings are organized for the benefit of farmers, women-groups, Mahila Mandals, unemployed youths, Self Help Groups, Entrepreneurs, Officers of different  government departments as well as to NGOs.

 

 

  Off-campus trainings

  • One day off-campus training programmes are also organized under different projects in the project areas.

  • Organization of Workshop and Seminars :

  • To provide common platform for interaction among university scientists, officers of the agriculture departments, other extension workers and progressive farmers Rabi Workshop and Kharif Workshop are organized every year before the commencement of Rabi and Kharif seasons, respectively.

  • In these workshops new recommendations of the university for improving agricultural production as well as emerging problems and issues are discussed and packages of practices for cereal crops are finalized.
