· Teaching: o Imparting under graduate teaching in the subject of Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology as per Veterinary Council of India regulations. o M.V.Sc. Programme in Veterinary Public Health. o The Department also offers Minor courses for Masters as well as Doctoral Programmes. · Research: o The departmental research activities primarily focuses on Food borne pathogens of zoonotic importance and epidemiology of zoonotic diseases, natural farming practices, food safety, and environmental hygiene. o Facilities available for molecular biology, detection of antimicrobial resistance and its mechanisms,antimicrobial residue analysis, water testing, adulteration testing of milk, bacteriological quality testing of milk, meat and eggs. o Adequate state-of-the-art infrastructure (Real Time PCR, Conventional PCR, Gel Doc system, Fluorescent microscope, Cooling Incubator shaker, Biosafety Cabinets(level 2&3), Digital colony counter,12 port Vacuum manifold system, committee room and UG and PG labs. · Extension: o Provides resource personnel for imparting short-term trainings/expert lectures to the Academicians, Veterinarians, Para-vets, farmers organized by the Directorate of Extension Education/other agencies. |
