TECHNOLOGY COMMERCIALIZED
MoU has been signed for the first time in the University for seed multiplication of rye grass variety ‘Him Palam Rye Grass 1’ with Durga Seeds Pvt. Ltd., Krishma Seed Farm & Nutranta Seeds Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad and for maize hybrid seed production of Palam Sankar Makka 2 with Nutranta Seeds Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad.
PLANT GENOME SAVIOUR COMMUNITY AWARD:
Chhohartu, a farmers’ variety of red rice grown in Chohara and Ransar valleys of Rohru, Distt. Shimla, three landraces of maize viz., Hachhi, Ratti and Chitku grown in Salooni block of distt. Chamba and Kala Zeera to Kala Zeera Utpadan Sangh of Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh have been registered and received Plant Genome Saviour Community Award under PPV&FRA
Innovations & Technologies Generated
Ø Developed an Innovative chromosome elimination- mediated approach of DH breeding following wheat x Imperata cylindrica system for the acceleration of wheat improvement programme (Being adopted globally)
Ø Established and refined protocols in respect of application of Molecular Cytogenetic approach for enhancing precision and efficiency of various crop improvement programmes
