  • To strengthen teaching facilities to the undergraduate veterinary students in the field of veterinary gross anatomy, histology and embryology.

  • To establish teaching facilities in advance histology, histochemistry and ultra structure of the domestic animals.

  • To establish teaching models in the study of veterinary embryology, organogenesis and histo-genesis including teratology.

  • To establish the teaching facilities in radiographic and applied anatomy to the undergraduate and postgraduate students

  • To create facilities for teaching of anatomy, histology and embryology of the laboratory and wild animals. 

  • To offer consultancy services to the clinical and applied sciences departments in respect of anatomical basis for sustainability of productivity of animals in health of disease. 

  • To prepare the teaching manuals in the gross anatomy, histology, embryology for undergraduate and postgraduates.

  • To write standard text books in the field of gross anatomy, histology, embryology and applied anatomy.

  • To conduct fundamental and applied anatomical research on yak, Gaddi sheep, Gaddi goat, pashmina and spiti horses of Himachal Pradesh.

  • To serve as a reference laboratory for anatomy of Yak, Gaddi sheep, Gaddi goat, Pashmina and Spiti horses of Himachal Pradesh.

  • To conduct research on the degeneration and regeneration of tissues under various environmental conditions.

  • To create and serve a centre of excellence in teaching and research in frontier areas of anatomy and cell biology.

  • To improve faculty competence.
