Supply of Chicks
-
Under the All India Co-ordinated research Project (AICRP)
on Poultry Breeding (Rural Poultry Centre) , the department is supplying
day old poultry chicks developed by crossing of Dahlem Red (DR) and
Native Chicken germplasm. These birds are observed as highly suitable
for rearing as egg type birds under backyard poultry production system.
The layer birds have early maturity, good egg production, brown egg
shell, large egg size, high adaptability and disease resistance in local agroclimatic conditions.
Interested poultry farmers/person to start poultry
farming can contact for their requirement of chicks to Head, Department of
