MANDATE
(1) Teaching:
Undergraduate as well as Post Graduate teaching to the students of Community Science and allied disciplines.
(2) Research:
Generation of database on Women in agriculture Documentation and scientific validation of Indigenous Knowledge Performance of women Self Help Groups in agriculture and allied sectors Data generation on knowledge and use of ICT tools by the farm women Extent of awareness of farm women on climate change Assessment of KAPs of farm women regarding nutrition

Organizing on campus as well as off campus livelihood training programmes for field functionaries’ and rural women of Himachal Pradesh. Imparting technical support to SMS (Home Science) in KVKs. Establishing linkages with other development agencies. Awareness generation among farm women regarding nutrition under Nutri-smart village programme. Strengthening of Self Help Groups through need and interest based trainings through concerned departments
