The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry holds mandate for teaching, research and extension programmes.

Teaching 

  Teaching different courses in the discipline of Chemistry and Biochemistry to the students of College of Basic Science, College of Agriculture and College of Home Science.

Research 

   Research on different crops and estimation of their biochemical and molecular characteristics.

   Evaluation of quality parameters of different crops for their improvement.

   Advisory and research facilities to the M.Sc. and Ph.D. scholars of the University.

Extension

   Participates in all extension activities of the University and the College of Basic Sciences.
