The Department of Organic Agriculture was established in the year 2009,
which was the first department of its own kind in the country. With the
launch of Natural Farming programme in the state during 2017-18, this
department was renamed as “Organic Agriculture & Natural Farming” in
June 2018 with the objective to create and disseminate the technologies
on organic agriculture & natural farming for the different stakeholders
of the state.The
department addresses diverse issues related to composts,
bio-formulations, land resource management, pest management, varietal
evaluation, cropping systems under organic & natural farming and human
resource development etc. in holistic manner. |
