Extension activities undertaken

  • To impart training to the farmers, unemployed youth, officers of Govt. departments of horticulture and agriculture as well as Non. Govt. agencies on horticultural production technologies, agroforestry technology and nursery raising etc.  

  • Participation in Scientist - Farmers interaction programmes.  

  • Demonstration of horticultural production technologies and various location specific agroforestry models at the farmers field.  

  • To popularize the extension literature among the farmers to make them technically literate.

  • To coordinate in Kisan Melas, Agri-fest and arrange the exhibitions of  departmental  activities at various occasions.  

  • Resource personells in the field of horticulture and agroforestry for various extension activities.

  • Organizing training programmes  for the stake holders.

  • Transfer of technology through delivering Radio and T.V. talks.

  • To conduct the visits of VIP's and farmers visiting the department from time to time.

  • Providing technical guidance to farmers through letters, telephone and field visits from time to time

  • Multiplication and distribution of quality nursery plants of temperate and sub-tropical fruits and fodder, fuel wood and timber trees to the farmers and Govt. Agencies of the state and neighboring states.
