Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding was established in the year
1972 under the then Agriculture Complex component of the Himachal
Pradesh University, Shimla with the aim to generate excellent human
resource in Genetics & Plant Breeding, develop
and
popularize crop varieti es by sustainable utilization of indigenous &
exotic gene-pools following conventional and modern plant breeding
approaches for enhancing productivity in accelerated & précised manner
under changing climatic scenario. |
