Home Science – Alumni Association Palampur

College of Home Science, CSKHPKV Palampur

The college of Home Science came into being in May 1991 after the upgradation of the department of Home Science which was started in the year 1980 with diploma in Home Science. This was later upgraded to Bachelors degree in Home Science (Hons.) in the year 2000-01. Two new bachelor’s degree programmes viz. B. Tech (Food Science and Technology) and B.Sc. (Hospitality and Hotel Administration) were started in the year 2010 and 2011 respectively. The main objectives of the college were skill up-gradation and empowerment of hill farm women community strengthening through post harvest management, value addition of products and hospitality skills of different stake holders of Himachal Pradesh.

The Alumni Association of College of Home science (AACOHS) was got registered in the year 2014 vide registration no. 40/SDP dated 02/08/2014 in the Office of the Sub Divisional Magistrate - cum  - Deputy Registrar of Societies, Palampur, District Kangra (H.P.)

The aims and objectives of the Association:-

(i)                 To build a platform to foster friendship, fraternity amongst all Home Science Graduates who will work for a common cause.

(ii)               To share scientific information amongst the members of the association.

(iii)             To arrange social functions/seminars/lectures/workshops/personality development camp/national integration camps etc.

(iv)             To ensure due care and respect to the vulnerable segments of the society.

(v)               Dissemination of useful knowledge, cultural education, maintenance of library or
reading rooms for general use among the members.

(vi)             To print or publish or get printed or reprinted books on tribal culture, history,
literature, philosophy, traditional science/knowledge, system of thought, exoteric language of others.

(vii)           To promote and review the various classical and folk dances, dramas, music, arts, crafts and xylographic works.

(viii)         Any other activity subservient to the aims and objectives of the society.

(ix)             To organize or participate in course of study, research and seminars and medical camps in different locations.

(x)               To organize a get together and related activities of Home Science Graduates, Palampur where they can interact and share their experiences concerning their professional achievements.
