NCC continued as a major student activity when this campus became part of Himachal Pradesh University Agricultural Complex in the year 1971.

NCC has continued and further evolved at this campus after this campus was declared as full fledged Agricultural University on November, 01, 1978.

This University has always accorded priority to NCC activities and keeping in view the National interests and optimum utilisation of youth energy; And also in order to produce trained and disciplined citizens and motivated youth CSK HPKV Palampur, since its inception, has adopted NCC activity as a mandatory Non Credit Course (0+2) across all the Undergraduate degree programs of the constituent colleges.

Till the academic year 2015-16, NCC as a course was offered only to the Male students. However, NCC was first offered to the Female students of this University from the academic year 2016-17.
