Veterinary Clinics:

The Veterinary Clinics is a tertiary referral facility of the state. Referred Surgical patients from across the state and adjoining states are being treated. The Regular out patient and in patient facilities are available.

University Dairy Farm:

Development of Regular health coverage to university dairy farm is being provided.

Ambulatory Clinics:

The staff of the department accompanies the students to various hospitals/dispensaries/camps/villages of the surrounding areas on every Saturday, to perform minor permissible surgeries and spot diagnosis for referral. This also acquaints the undergraduate students to manage surgery under field conditions.

Clinical Camps:

More than 525 clinical camps have been organized by faculty of the department covering all districts of Himachal Pradesh. The special emphasis was given to attend cases in the tribal areas viz Kinnaur, Pangi valley, Lahaul, & Spiti, Bhamour, Tissa, Kihar, Salooni, trans-giri areas of Sirmaur district.

Emergency Service:

The specialists of the department are providing emergency services to the farmers round the clock at veterinary clinics.

Consultancy service:

The consultancy service to the farmers and paravet and veterinaians is a regular feature.

Pashudhan Helpline:

The department runs weekly helpline in Print media for addressing the livestock queries of farmers across the state.

Extension lectures:

The faculty also delivers expert lectures to the farmers, agriculture officers of the state government, and veterinary officers of the state animal husbandry department and the technical staff of the university as and when required. Twenty refresher courses were organized for senior Veterinary officers of state Animal Husbandry.

Workshops:

Specialized training to veterinary officers in the field of imaging techniques , anaesthesia and soft tissue surgery seminars and workshops were organized for field veterinarians.

SSB Training:

Five batches of SSB personnel were trained and imparted first-aid training in handling emergencies and creating awareness to maintain the functional integrity of animals.

H.P Veterinary Council Seminars:

The staff of the department participates, as an expert, in the technical seminars organized by the H.P Veterinary Council for Veterinarians of each district.

Live phone in Doordarshan:

The experts of the department are also presenting themselves in Doordarshan Programme for addressing Live phone in queries of the farmers.

Radio Talks:

The experts of the department have delivered 40 radio talks at All India Radio, Shimla and Dharamsala.

Wild Life Service:

Technical experts of the departments are deputed to attend emergencies in Wild Life Sanctuary at Gopalpur (District Kangra) and Renuka (Sirmaur).
