This Department is entrusted upon to fulfill following mandate :

1. Teaching of under-graduate and post-graduate students.

    Under-graduate:

• Department is imparting under-graduate teaching to the B.V.Sc & A.H. programme of the college under the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) regulations. Apart from this, Compulsory Internship training is also being imparted.

    Post-graduate:

• The department offers Masters (M.V. Sc.)  and the Doctorate (Ph.D.) programme in Veterinary Medicine.

2.    Diagnosis and treatment of sick animals at the college clinics.

3.    To carry out research on the diseases of livestock of the state.

4.    Extension education in respect of animal health through clinical camps/ consultancy, telemedicine, radio-talks, emergency services throughout the state and training to the livestock farmers.
