About Department:

The department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education came into existence in the year 1999 to meet the Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education as per the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) Act, 1984. The Department aims to educate the veterinary graduates in application of the basic concepts of development education, entrepreneurship development as well as that of behavioural sciences for the transfer/dissemination of available technology. The department has worked for farmer centric research and extension activities through ICAR, World Bank, DST, NIF, NCW and State Government funded projects in recent years.

Major activities of the department:

   Under-graduate teaching in Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education according to the mandate and prescribed curriculum of the VCI.

   Conduct research in the areas of extension education, communication, training & teaching methods, marketing and entrepreneur sectors.

   To disseminate the applied research of University among livestock owners/ farmers in order to increase the production potential of their animals.

   To conduct field extension activities to generate inputs for research.
