Baspa and Him-1 having attractive seed colour and better cooking quality
were recommended for general cultivation.

Arkel (Early maturing), Azad P-1, Palam Priya and PB 89 (Medium maturing)
varieties of Pea were evaluated and recommended for cultivation in Lahaul
Valley.

Standardized & recommended seed rate of garden pea in dry temperate zone
(250 kg/ha).

A high yielding bush type variety (Contender) of French bean was introduced,
evaluated and recommended for cultivation.

Golden Acre (cabbage) and PSBK-1 (cauliflower) varieties of cole crops were
introduced and recommended for commercial cultivation.

Him Pragati variety of tomato was developed and recommended for cultivation
in the valley.

High yielding varieties of carrot (Pusa Yamdagni), radish (Pusa Himani),
broccoli (Palam Samridhi), chinese cabbage (Palampur Green) and turnip (PTWG)
were evaluated and recommended for general cultivation.

Vegetable based intercropping system (cabbage + French bean) and most
remunerative crop sequence Pea-summer squash followed by Pea-French bean and
Pea-radish were developed.

Harmukh, a high yielding variety of Hops was recommended in addition to Late
Cluster Hybrid-2.

Nucleus Seed Production programme of rajmash and pea was initiated at the
Research Farm.

Evaluated, standardized and installed suitable poly house for growing
capsicum, tomato & cucumber during summer , and leafy vegetables during
winter.

Palampur composite variety of White Clover and Anand-3 of Lucerne having
higher forage yield were introduced in the valley.

Integrated use of seed and soil treatment and Bavistin was recommended for
the control of root rot diseases complex in Pea and Rajmash.

Horti-pastoral system of apples and improved grasses were established and
demonstrated at the centre as well as at the farmer’s fields in the valley.

Successful cultivation of button mushroom and dhingri was introduced
in Lahaul valley.

Close planting (30cm x 30cm) in cole crops was more productive and
profitable.

Cauliflower commonly grown is the most profitable vegetable among commonly
grown vegetables in the Lahaul valley.

Oats can successfully be grown for fodder in July just after the harvest of
garden pea crop.

Manual Wheel-hoe can be used for weeding and hoeing in garden pea, Rajmash,
Tomato, Capsicum etc.
