Farmers of cold desert can use their non-cultivable area by establishing Seabuckthorn plantations at crop geometry of 3.5 m x 1.5 m in 2.0ʹ×2.0ʹ×2.0 pits in the month of April. They need to apply farmyard manure from establishment year to about 20 kg FYM/basin to a four year tree. Women drudgery can easily reduced by using black polythene sheet Artimesia weed as mulch in basins to check the weed growth. Light pruning (10-25%) in old wild plantations can increase their productivity. This will help in alleviating the socio-economic status of the farmers vis-a –vis will help improve the ecology of cold deserts
