Research Accomplishments
1. Standardization of various preanesthetics and anesthetics and technique of balanced anesthesia for general anesthesia in Yaks (Bos grunniens).
2. Developed a diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic protocol for managing the disease of intestinal obstruction in cattle which is one of the major surgical problems in Himachal Pradesh.
3. Developed and standardized the diagnostic management of intestinal colic in horses with special reference to Sonography.
4. Developed safe anesthetic technique using injectable and inhalant anesthetic for performing elective, complicated and emergency surgeries in small animals.
5. Developed and clinically standardized the application of Sonography as diagnostic tool in abdominal affections in small animals.
6. Developed a model “Downer Cow Assistance Assembly” to assist the ailing recumbent animals to bear weight on the limbs.
7. Developed and standardized the safe anesthetic regimen for performing sterilization (general and laparoscopic) in Monkeys.
8. Developed the field anesthesia technique of Total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA) as continuous rate infusion technique (CRI) in equines. The same has been tried and tested at field hospitals.
9. Adapted and performed the external skeletal fixation technique in management of long bone fractures in equines.
10. Standardized the technique of percutaneous portogram and intraoperative mesenteric portogram for hepatobillary affections.
11. Designed and developed an “End threaded positive profile IM” pin to be used as an effective implant for internal fixation for fractures of long bones in dogs under field conditions.
