Brief Biodata of Dr Ravindra Kumar Dr Ravindra
Kumar, is presently working Dean, DGCN College of Veterinary & Animal
Sciences, CSKHPKV, Palampur since 01.06.2022. Qualifications: Dr Ravindra
Kumar completed his graduation (B V Sc & A H) in 1987, post-graduation (M
V Sc) in 1989 and Doctorate in 1999 from Punjab Agricultural University,
Ludhiana Work Experience: Prior to
joining the present assignment at BASU, he was working as Professor &
Head of the Department of Veterinary Physiology & Biochemistry and have
total experience of more than 30 years of Teaching,
Research, Extension and administrative Positions. Successfully discharged the
additional responsibilities of Member Secretary Board of Studies, Controller
of Examination etc. Research Publications: Dr Ravindra Kumar, has carried out
pioneering work on Migratory Sheep Husbandry of Himachal Pradesh and impact
of Climate change on productivity of livestock, completed more than10
research projects as Principal Investigator and CO-Principal Investigator
including mega projects on Embryo Transfer technology (ETT), and World Bank
funded project on National Agricultural higher education (NAHEP). He has more
than 70 research publications in National and International peer reviewed
journals, 5 Books and Book chapter and Number of extension publications. In
recognition of his research contributions been awarded Young Scientist award
twice. In his
assignment at Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna as Director Research he
handed multiple National and International projects and University has
achieved significant milestones like First
Calf born through Embryo transfer technology in Bihar and Building
research environment in the University and building National and
International collaboration. Other Salient Achievements: Some Salient areas of Scientific
Contributions for Growth and Development of Farmers are: a) Migratory Sheep & Goat Husbandry. b)
Improvement
of Migratory Buffalo Production. c)
Establishing
the blood biochemical profile of indigenous livestock of Himachal Pradesh. d)
Human
resource development through trainings and farm visits.
