Background During early 2014 a proposal was received from World Society for Protection of Animals (WSPA) to start a Veterinary Emergency Response Unit (North Zone) at COVAS, CSKHPKV, Palampur. Accordingly, the university approved the proposal, signed the MOU and finally the VERU (North Zone) was commissioned and started functioning in the premises of Dr G.C. Negi College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, CSKHPKV, Palampur w.e.f. 5th May, 2014.
