Dr. Manorajan Kalia 

         Dr. Manorajan Kalia  took over as the Vice Chancellor of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Agricultural University, Palampur on April  07, 2005. He is the Officiating Vice Chancellor of the University since its inception.

Palampur, 7 April, Mr. V S Kokje, Chancellor, CSK HPKV and Governer, HP, has appointed Dr. Manoranjan Kalia, Dean, College of Home Science, as interim Vice Chancellor of the University

Dr. Kalia is senior most faculty member and senior most amongst Deans and Directors.  He joined the University in November, 1979 as Associate Professor-cum-Principal Investigator of the All India Coordinated Research Project on Post Harvest Technology in Horticultural crops in the Department of Pomology and Fruit Technology.  Prior to returning to India, he was Director of Research and Quality Assurance in Akron Ohio, USA.  He is the product of the Ohio State University, USA, where he earned his Doctorate in Food Science and Technology in the year 1973.

Dr. Kalia is member of many distinguished scientific societies and has authored five text books and edited another five books. He has guided over seventy five M. Sc. and Ph.D. scholars.  Dr. Kalia is a widely traveled scientist and has visited over fifteen countries in connection with his professional obligations.

After taking over as interim Vice Chancellor, Dr. Manoranjan Kalia, addressed statutory officer and Heads of the departments and sought their cooperation to fulfill the mandate of the University for the socio-economic upliftment of the farming community of the State.
