Director's Message
The extension education activities enable the university to directly reach and serve our main clients, i.e. the farmers of the state. The Directorate of Extension Education is responsible for coordinating all extension services to the farmers and field level extension functionaries of state development Departments of Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry etc. through various programmes and activities at headquarter as well as through eight KVKs established in different district of the state. Besides organizing state level Agricultural Officers Workshop for Kharif, Rabi and Vegetable crops; the directorate have taken numerous new initiatives viz. Model Training Courses (MTCs) for field extension functionaries, signed MOUs with institutions like ICAR, NABARD, SJVN, ATMA, etc. for technology transfer; and skill development trainings sponsored under ASCI (Agricultural Skill Council of India). Various extension activities ak KVKs involve organization of Field days, celebration of Special days, Kisan Melas/ Kisan Goshthis, Crop Seminars, Exhibitions, Exposure visits, Radio Talks, TV Telecast, Film Shows etc. for the benefit of its stakeholders.

Educational Museum
Educational Museum was established in the year 1985. The aim to establish the educational museum is to have display of teaching, research and extension for the development of peasantry in integrated manner. The research information generated by the scientists in the University, assessed and refined in different agro-climatic zones and thereafter transferred to the farmers of the Pradesh has been nicely displayed through useful, interesting, interactive, attractive and impact making exhibits. It is located behind the University Library. It is a special attraction for the University visitors as it is the mirror of the University activities under single roof. It depicts the activities of different departments of the constituent colleges and Directorate of Extension Education. In the museum live samples, models, charts, photographs and literature are on display which provide ample knowledge to the visitors not only on on-going activities of the University but also in depth knowledge of various aspects of Agriculture, Animal Sciences, Community Sciences and Basic Science.

The Agricultural Technology Information center (ATIC)
The Agricultural Technology Information center (ATIC) is a single window system for the benefit of the farming community belonging to 4 zones of the state. It started functioning at Gate No.-1 of the University on Pathank-Mandi National Highway No 154 and 3 kms from Palampur in Nov., 2001. ATIC System is catering to the needs of approaching farmers for different type of assistance.  ATIC provides technology information, quality seed/planting material as well as in redressal of farmers’ queries related to farming problems. Since its inception it has been providing technologies in the field of agriculture, veterinary, agricultural engineering, fisheries, poultry as well as on value added products. ATIC is an outlet for sale of university products for general consumers also.
