NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC) / राष्ट्रीय कैडेट कोर
Motto of NCC is “Unity and Discipline”.
All the students registered in this course are trained for basic concepts of discipline, drill & NCC and participation in University level Republic Day and Independence Day Parades. The classes are conducted for 4 hours in a week. The Selected Cadets out of all the registered students are further trained as per NCC curriculum and are motivated to achieve the target of passing “C” certificate examination in good grade. NCC unit at CSKHPKV Palampur is an Army Wing (Infantry) Unit and deals with Senior Division (Boys) and Senior Wing (Girls) Cadets. This Unit is attached to 5 HP (Independent) Company NCC-Dharamshala (under the Group Headquarters-Shimla) which is lead by The Officer Commanding of the Rank of Colonel from Indian Army.
The importance of social and cultural activities is preparing students for real life and strengthening their personal skills. Social/cultural activities not only help students to identify themselves with the university, but also assist students to develop themselves in a desired field and also improve skills such as organizational, presentation, leadership and interpersonal communication. As social and cultural activities are of paramount importance, the University encourages all extra-curricular activities that are both in line with the educational objectives of the institution and meet the needs of the students. Culture can be defined as the arts as well as the intangible shared beliefs, values, and practices of a community. Students participate in arts and culture at varying levels of skill and engagement.
