Sensitization program on ragging at CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University
A sensitization progrmme on ragging was organized for the students at CSK Himachal Pradesh Agriculture University on 26 August.
Professor Ashok Kumar Sarial, Vice-Chancellor while addressing the newly admitted and other regular students assured that all required steps have been taken by the University to stop the menace of ragging as per the directions of Supreme Court of India and Govt of H.P. Anti Ragging act. The Vice-Chancellor said that his university has the glorious tradition of ragging free campus for the last over eight years and he will ensure that this convention continuous in this academic session and in future as well. While welcoming the new students, he asked them to work hard and excel in life. Professor Ashok Kumar Sarial elaborated about all aspects of Anti-ragging act and asked the students to be fully aware about it and the serious consequences if anybody was found violating the provision of this act. He also administered anti-ragging pledge to the students and officers present on the occasion.
Dr.Kamlesh Singh, Students' Welfare Officer-cum Dean College of Basic Sciences, elaborated about the academic system in the university and asked the students to take help of their advisors. He underlined the importance of self discipline and proper planning for bright future.
Mr.Manoj Kumar, Registrar; DrR.K.Agnihotri Dean Post Graduate Studies-cum-Dean Dr. G C Negi College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences; Dr.Dinesh Badiyala, Dean College of Agriculture; Dr.Rekha Malhotra, Dean College of Home Science and other statutory officers were also present. Dr.Ashok Kumar Sharma, OSD to Vice-Chancellor presented a vote of thanks.
